★Speaking of Japanese snack... this is it! A special article for OR members’ recommended snacks that you should try when you come to Japan!★

★(  'ω') Boss’s recommendation  Kuri Youkan (栗羊羹)

Youkan is a sweet snack which is a jellied azuki bean paste.

Kuri Youkan is the one with kuri (chestnut).

The reason why Boss recommends this is that we can appreciate the deliciousness of chestnut most among all kinds of snacks.

(  'ω') “The chestnut is second to none when it comes to its aftertaste with moderate sweetness and refreshment... I bet you can relax yourself with its sweetness and deliciousness when you eat it with a nice and warm cup of tea as well.”

(゜∇ ゜) “Wow, you recommend a real taste of Japanese food, huh? Speaking of Kuri Youkan, I remember someone in anime was trying to feed it to a rabbit....”

(  'ω') “You must not feed it to any rabbits since it’s way too nutritious for them! Feed ME though!!!”

★(^q^) Mafuyu’s recommendation  Osenbei (おせんべい)

Knead rice, make it flat and grill it crunchily!

Put some soy sauce or salt on top of them before you grill them, and they will become even savorer.

(^q^) The reason why Mafuyu recommends this is because we can enjoy various flavors from them!

http://zenjiro-senbei-hiranoya.com/

(  'ω') “We often see scenes where someone is eating this osenbei especially in Japanese everyday-life anime, right?”

http://livedoor.4.blogimg.jp/anico_bin/imgs/a/e/ae35e297.jpg

(゜∇ ゜) “Somehow we always have an image of eating osenbei when we watch TV.”

(^q^) “Yep! Crunchy texture! And we can enjoy various flavors... We have so many kinds of osenbei in Japan but this is the one Mafuyu loves the most!!!”

(^q^) “The one with negi (leek) and miso (fermented soybean paste) flavor!”

(゜∇ ゜) (  'ω') ““I’ve never had this one~~~~~!!! What’s this osenbei?!””

(^q^) “I know you guys haven’t. Because it’s such an awesome specialty that Mafuyu’s hometown has made... If any of you (who are reading this article) have any chance to buy osenbei as your souvenir, I strongly recommend this negi miso flavor!”

★( ´_ゝ`)Aoi’s recommendation  Mitarashi dango (みたらし団子)

Smash and knead sticky rice, make it round, boil it, grill it and put some sweet-sour sauce!

You’ll be addicted to this sticky, tender texture and a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness.

( ´_`) The reason why Aoi recommends this one is because it’s always good no matter where we buy such as supermarket or sightseeing spot. We can get this anywhere but they taste a little different deliciousness.

(゜∇ ゜) “Mitarashi dango~~~~!!!!! I love it too!!!!”

( ´_`) “That sticky texture... delicious sauce... it’s such an incredible snack. I was so impressed when I saw mitarashi dango in 7th episode of anime, Charlotte.”

(゜∇ ゜) “They look so delicious... Those brown-ish brightness is so awesome!!!!”

( ´_`) “Like I said, we can easily buy mitarashi dango anywhere in Japan. And they’re all good. So maybe you can even try to make your original one. But you should taste the one you buy first!”

★(*'ω'*)ノAyami’s recommendation  Kuki wakame (茎わかめ)

Flavored the core of wakame (seaweed) with vinegar or katsuo (bonito) soup stock.

The more you shew, the more flavors you will taste in your mouth. You’ll get addicted to this perfect texture.

(*'ω'*)The reason why Ayami recommends this is because we can eat this luxurious seafood so easily.

(゜∇ ゜) “Wow. You recommended such a minor snack...”

(*'ω'*) “It’s not minor!!! Kuki wakame is such a wonderful snack! Especially Kuki wakame with Ume shiso (plum and perilla / 梅しそ) flavor!!! This is the best snack that we can enjoy both sea food and the food of the mountains at the same time!!!

(  'ω') “Food of the mountain...?”

(*'ω'*) “It can be snack but it can be dinner as well! Kuki wakame is wonderful! The texture is so good that we can keep chewing for a long time! These are sold with packages, so you can go get one some day!!”

(゜∇ ゜) “We have an image of umai bou that collaborates with various anime, don’t we? They are actually shown in anime and the illustrations of the packages can be changed too!”
