Neuro: Supernatural Detective is manga series written and illustrated by Yūsei Matsui.
Anime series were broadcast locally in Kanto area and then broadcast in other area from January 2008. Talking about Yūsei Matsui comics, Ansatsu Kyōshitsu serialized in weekly SHONEN JUMP is much-talked-about. This is his previous work.
As the author said, “this is a simple entertainment comic in detective skin”. As he said, the title contains the word “detective”, it was extremely difficult to make inferences since the protagonist Neuro is a demon who eats mysteries and he resolves cases by his supernatural power (;^_^) Therefore, composition of the story is not to delving into the mysteries but to enjoy unpredictable quality and fanciful notions of mind-boggling tricks and psychopathic criminals. When I introduce the story like this, some would think “what a boring story”. But those unpredictable quality and fanciful notions are feature of this comic, are unaverage!! It is shocking to see the strong elements such as scary illustrations, sicko criminals and mind-boggling tricks. I though enjoying this comic with your mouth wide open is right for real (´v`)=3
Talking about characters, I like the other protagonist and heroine Yako. She is used as shield for Neuro to act within human’s world and forced to slave for Neuro. She is one of the few conscientious person in the story most of characters are psychopathic including demon Neuro. She is the character who rests your mind tired of continuous shocking scenes. So she has an atmosphere you’ll like her naturally (´v`)=3 Her conscientious personality goes into the story line. Therefore, she is not a side dish served between the main courses. She kills two birds with one stone!!
Neuro: Supernatural Detective is full of irritant and illustration is lurid (;^_^) But the balance is well thought. It is not monotonous at all!! The comic which has huge impact and a little comfort is a perfect comic for breath-fresher.
