If I was asked which manga I recommend now, I would say “Inu × Boku SS”.
Basically, I’m a fan of the comic writer Kokoa Fujiwara and I was looking forward to her next work after “Dear” finished.
Some years have already passed since I was hooked by the attractive characters and the twisty story of “Inu × Boku SS” and it will conclude soon. (As of the beginning of February 2014)
With the support of fans, it was animated in 2013. If you know only anime version, you might think “What? Does it have a story full of twists?” In my opinion, the anime mainly introduces the characters and shows only their mingling; the story itself didn’t develop very much. (I don’t mean I criticize it. I understand it’s impossible to finish the original story in one season.)
I do recommend reading the manga that is the next part of the anime. Read it until volume four at least!
If you watch the anime again after reading the manga, I bet you will sob with the sparkling days.
The story develops mainly in an apartment named the Maison de Ayakashi, so-called the Ayakashikan. Outwardly, this is a high-class apartment that only people who passed a strict examination are allowed to move into, but actually, it is where demon ancestors reside.
The main protagonist Ririchiyo Shirakiin was distressed about the environment of an old illustrious family and left home under the condition; living in the Ayakashikan.
At the Ayakashikan, each resident is guarded by their own secret service bodyguard (SS) and Soushi Mitsukami became her SS.
The story which revolves around them shows interactions between other residents and them.
I recommend reading all volumes of the manga at once, but if you watch the anime, I want you to watch it until the end every time.
Each character sings the ending theme song and… Hey, Mitsukami, you have a problem in many ways.
As might be expected of the song written by the comic writer Fujiwara, the lyrics are mad and Mitsukami seems to be satisfied when he sings. This song was used on the second and ninth episode as the ending song and the images are different a little. The second one (the ninth episode) were crazier.
On the anime, the visual depiction of Rensyou Sorinozuka was cute. The voice actor Hosoya’s unmotivated voice was perfect.
In addition, Yuichi Nakamura who acts Mitsukami auditioned for Kagerou’s voice, too. He thought he wouldn’t get the role of Mitsukami according to the reaction of the staff, so he was surprised when his agency told him the result. I want to see Kagerou with his voice someday.
My favorite character is Karuta Roromiya!!
She loves food. She doesn’t want to be eaten. She wants to eat. Although she is an SS of Kagerou who is a pervert, she sticks to her own way. I’m wishful for such a style.
And… Watanuki and her awkward love is too good… I… I’m… full!
However, she is in a quandary in volume 4 of the manga and I turned the pages with a clutch at the heart.
Karuta in the second season is also my favorite. She changed her bunches into a short cut, but she is still cute!!
The reason why I say “Please read the manga! Not only anime!” is that the story of it develops drastically from the episode after the anime.
Take my word for it and read it until volume 4. (I said it again because it’s an important thing.) Now, let’s be fascinated!
