Woah, did not expect that...

This doujinaka has a unique and advance skill at paneling and imagery. The objects and faces are cropped to convey a meaning or view point which is something I typically don't see or even notice if there was any. There are a few pages where there is no words/dialogue; which there is really no need since the imagery itself does a great job at portraying the mood or telling the story (and they do say that a picture is worth a 1000 words). However what I love about this is that it lets the reader interpret things on their own and keeps them guessing at what happened or what the true intentions of the characters are. I get hooked on things that keep me guessing. Everything seems to have been done in a clever way.

Summary: Fushimi and Yata stay over at Yata's grandmother's place. Things don't go as Fushimi expected it to go, however he's not complaining. Then the unexpected happen and Fushimi takes home a 'souvenir'.

Overall: Things didn't go as I expected either. Surprised, I was surprised twice, or maybe I should say thrice because it's two things that happened and one thing that was revealed? It's a good thing that Japanese tend to use real items in their mangas/anime or else I would not be able to confirm what exactly the item at the end was. I guess it right the first time too, lol. Anyways, I love how the paneling was done to convey how Fushimi viewed Yata's grandmother. The panel always cut off half her face or did not show her eyes, kind of conveying the message that Fushimi's not looking at her face, or some other meaning. The cover is a LOVELY representation of what the souvenir meant to Fushimi. Although there's nothing really dark that happens in this doujin, it feels dark, probably because of the thing that happened (yeah, it's probably that and her art style that contributes to it as well). Her works feel so psychological. I want say more, but I think that would ruin the fun.

I'm like so sad that I didn't buy her other book when I had the chance, now. Also sad that I can't get my hands on her other ones either.
