Rengoku Kyoujurou is a character in Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). He is a member of the “Hashira”, executives of The Demon Slayer Corps, an organization that hunts down demons in the series. Kamado Tanjirou is the protagonist of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). He joins The Demon Slayer Corps to find a way to turn his sister, Kamado Nezuko, back into a human after she becomes a demon.

As the eldest son of a large family, he is kind but can firmly discipline his comrades. Even against demons, his enemies, he does not lose his stance of trying to understand them without being caught in hatred or sorrow.

The time these two could spend together was really short...... The movie Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train, can be seen as a story of Tanjirou growing through meeting Rengoku-San, rather than a story about these two.

When Tanjirou first met Rengoku-San, he intuitively felt that he was not a “bad person” due to his nurturing nature and strong sense of justice. Rengoku-San, upon learning that Tanjirou's sword is “black” (no one with a black sword has become a Hashira before), declares that he will train himself to become stronger! Ah...... Akaza is a character who is a “demon” that the Demon Slayer Corps must defeat and is positioned as Upper Rank 3 among the “Twelve Kizuki”, who are particularly strong among the demons.

Unlike other demons, he directly receives orders from Kibutsuji Muzan and performs his tasks, a rare demon that does not operate within a specific territory.

He has spent a long time since becoming a demon to train and increase his power, and has eliminated many members of The Demon Slayer Corps with his terrifying combat power.

These two also symbolize the movie version of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train. For Rengoku-San, Akaza is an enemy, even if he recognizes him, and he will not be accepted, so he will have to fight for his life.

However, the relationship between Rengoku-San and Akaza will be mentioned a little bit in episodes beyond the movie version. In episodes ahead of the currently airing anime, there will come a time when the surviving Akaza fights with Tanjirou.

At that time, Akaza reflects on his past and his fight with Rengoku-San...... the episode when he looked back is a little heartbreaking, so to speak...... The relationship between Rengoku-San and Akaza is thoroughly depicted in the movie version, but it doesn't end there, and it's nice to have a mention in a little later episode! For those who are interested in these two, although it hasn't been made into an anime yet, if you check the episodes a little further...... you might find a development that makes you feel more heartbroken and love this combination of the two more.
