If I were to describe in one phrase, maybe something like ‘a gag manga to enjoy both the serious and the heart-felt’?

There’s practically no overly-gory images or for-adults-only images, and I think this is a piece where you can expect to enjoy the characters’ growths and daily lives with each episode!

Story’s main character is a boy who is troubled by the existence of “himself”, Mob(Kageyama Shigeo)!

And as for the content, it’s a story of growth of an ordinary student, Mob (Kageyama Shigeo) who’s not good with sports nor with school!

What, that description sounds off? Mob is bad with both sports and grades...... but he has an incredible talent(?), no?

Yes! It turns out that Mob is a psychic with an incredible power!! ......But, he says ‘super powers are not necessary for a normal living,’ and doesn’t use it actively.

What a shame......

It is what it is. Because he was born with his super-powers, he went through a lot in the past. But, when Mob was struggling with his psychic powers during his childhood, there was someone who became a mentor.

Meeting Reigen Arataka, self-claimed to be a psychic, but practically actually a scammer.

Young Mob was really troubled about his psychic abilities. Around the same time, he meets Reigen Arataka who was opening a psychic-phenomenon clinic. Mob opens up about his dilemma to him. Reigen Arataka has no superpowers and was giving fake exorcist-sort of services, so practically a scammer.

That’s a harsh description......

But upon meeting young Mob, he instantly knew that Mob was seriously troubled about his psychic powers. So, he listened to and really helped Mob out as another human being and not as a crook.

What Reigen Arataka does for a living is helplessly scam-like, but it’s appealing that he’s actually not such a bad person. You just can’t hate him. In fact, his fees are seriously cheap, and he’s almost never quarreled with his clients about fees.

Yup~! And ever since, Mob trusted Reigen and started to help at the clinic. Reigen, almost like a parent, watched over Mob’s growth and started to have Mob resolve psychic-power related requests that he can’t, conveniently.

Basically, this anime is fun series where the episodes on resolving incoming requests at the clinic and the episodes on Mob’s struggle to change his-plain-self are alternating.

Yes! There are episodes that involve crazy psychic phenomenon, as well as trying hard to change his-dull-self at school! Most episodes conclude at the end of the single episode, but there are also serious stories that evolve over time, spanning about 10 episodes. This is also why the anime is so interesting!

A dreadful change to the city at the final chapter......!?
What is the relationship between the “tree” that appeared out of nowhere and Ekubo who’s gone missing!?

Ekubo was introduced mid-story, and overlooked Mob’s growth with Reigen. The key to the final chapter seems to be held by Ekubo, who’s suddenly disappeared, and a ‘tree’ that suddenly appeared in the city......!

The city is in trouble, but Mob too is going through various changes and is struggling. He’s at a stage-in-life to seriously think about his future career, and a girl from his childhood that he’s had a crush on for forever moves away, etc...... Tumultuous events seem to await Mob.
