“Haikyu!!” is a story of high school volley ball team written by Haruichi Furudate. The story starts with the scene that Hinata who is a main character of this manga joins a high school volley ball team which was known as a powerful team only once. (`・ω・´)=3 However, there is Kageyama, who is a second main character and Hinata was badly beaten before and vows to get over him. And Hinata has to team up with Kageyama… I still remember the scene of the beginning clearly because it was shocking. (;^_^)
Main point of “Haikyu!!” is team work of all the team members. Hinata is a beginner, Kageyama is self-indulgent, seniors are strict, and classmates are jokers… There are many impactful characters and they face troubles but overcome them and step forward as a team. I felt like this is one of the best spokon (like a tenacity in sports) manga. (* `・ω・´)
The character I love is a protagonist Hinata. As I said, he is a beginner in volley ball and short in height, but has incredible reflexes and can leap into motion instantaneously. Plus, his great enthusiasm builds a good combination with Kageyama. To tell the truth, his play was not good at all at first and he was not good under pressure, so I was worried about him. (;^_^) However, he found the place where he can use his abilities during playing volley ball with seniors and struggled team mate, Kageyama. (´v`)=3 I like stories such as main characters face and solve troubles and grow, so Hinata’s change caught my heart so much. (`・ω・´)=3
The writer Haruichi Furudate wanted to write this volley ball manga, “Haikyu!!” before his debut, so you will feel his passion through the story!! This is a classic style spokon manga playing volley ball most of the time, but still it is today’s manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. You can enjoy this manga even if you are not familiar with classic style spokon manga, so just pick this up. (`・ω・´)=3 For your information, “Haikyu!!” will be adopted into an anime from this April (in Japan, aired at 17:00 on Sundays), so this is a good opportunity to start touching “Haikyu!!”
