So, as someone who loves mysteries, I've found a 'detective' anime that both Boss and I are likely to love in the upcoming Fall 2023 anime lineup! If you're looking for mystery-solving works in the anime starting this October, let's check them out together!

So, what's the bottom line?

Basically, the original work is a massively popular light novel.

I see, very clear.

To put it simply, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is about a girl named Maomao, who has exceptional knowledge about “medicine” and “poison.” She solves “mysterious incidents” that happen at her workplace, the royal palace, just like a detective!

Originally, Maomao wasn't working in the royal court, but she was sold into service there due to kidnapping, and will work until her contract ends.

That's pretty heavy.

Maomao was pretending to be incompetent on purpose so that the kidnapper who sold her wouldn't get a lot of money for her skills. However, when a “mysterious incident” occurs, someone takes notice of Maomao's keen insights. That person is her boss, Jinshi.

Maomao wants to solve mysteries out of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, but she doesn't want to stand out. Jinshi is her partner who sort of...... exploits, I mean, helps her. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is a story about these two uncovering the mysteries and conspiracies swirling around the royal court!
