Was there a prologue in Stone Ocean? (I did not think there was......)

Well...... there was no prologue officially, but a story before the main story was unfolded and just finished. From now on, Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) Part 6 will start the famous Stand battle and the story will be developed to reveal the secret of the mastermind!

What is “Prologue” of Jojo Part 6: Stone Ocean in episodes 1 to 5?

Cujoh Jolyne, who is the daughter of the main character, Kujo Jotaro, in Part 3 was put into prison......but......

In episode 1, Cujoh Jolyne who is the daughter of Kujo Jotaro was put into prison on behalf of her boyfriend. He killed someone. If she admitted the crime that she never comitted, she was supposed to commutated. However, her lawyer and her boyfriend betrayed her and she was convicted for 15 years.

Wow, it sounds like very quick development from the beginning!

Basically, the former main characters in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure were all serious students or gentlemen even though they were not so social. Jolyne is a little different. She is a bad girl but she isn’t that bad. She certainly does not have to be in prison for 15 years!

She was entrusted with a pendant from her father, Jotaro.
There was something inside of it.

When she was imprisoned, Jolyne received her stuff and found a pendant that she was not familiar with. Jolyne cut off her relationship with her father, Jotaro, but the pendant was given to her mother from him to hand it over Jolyne when she was in danger. There was something inside of it.

Is it a part of axe?

No, not at all!! It is an arrow.

It is part of an arrow, but a special one. If you are shot through by this arrow, you can reveal Stand ability. There are only 6 special arrows in the world. She has a part of it in her pendant.

So Jotaro put it in the pendant for Jolyne?

Yes! Jolyne did not know the secret about the arrow. She accidentally touched it and cut her finger. As a result, she obtained Stand ability.

Someone came to see Jolyne in the prison.
Who is it?

Jolyne’s Stand ability was to make her body very thin, like a thread. By using the thread (Stand ability), she can listen to people talking or hauling things in.

As she was gradually getting better with controlling her Stand ability, she met a boy in prison. He does not look like a criminal at all. He told her that she should not meet with the person who is coming to see her tomorrow. If she sees the person, something very frightening will happen. Something worse than death.

Part 6 contains mystery solving factors, but the genre of this anime is adventure. Am I right?

Actually, it is going to be an adventure!

Jolyne was not fully trusted what the boy said, but a person came to see her the next day for real. Jolyne thought it was her mother and met with the person!

The person who waited for her there was...... her father! Jotaro!!

Well, it does not sound strange to me because he is her father. If one’s daughter is in prison, it’s quite natural her parents visit her in prison.

Sure, if it is a normal family! But they are different! Jotaro left his family when Jolyne was very small and did not return home. Even when Jolyne had high fever and almost died, he did not come home. When she was accused of stealing something, Jotaro also did not come home even though he knew what was happening to his daughter.

Then Jolyne must be surprised to see her father. She must feel that he is too late to come back!

Jotaro reunited with Jlyne and told his daughter that she was trapped. Everything that happened to her from the accident by boyfriend, the trial, the lawyer and betrayal were all planned by a prisoner. He wanted to get revenge and trapped Jolyne.

Why was this person holding a grunge on Jolyne?

The prisoner actually targeted Jotaro to get revenge. He was the subordinate of DIO who was the opponent of Jotaro in Part 3. DIO had the strongest Stand ability. The prisoner was the royal to DIO. He held a grunge on Jotaro because DIO was defeated by him. The prisoner set up putting Jolyne in prison to lure her father to kill them all.

Jotaro and Jolyne were in danger!
They try to escape from the prison!!

So this is a really bad situation for them!! They might get killed!!

At this point, the bargaining between their opponents was a typical Stand battle. It was very interesting! I do not want to spoil it, so I won’t explain about it. Jolyne realized what was happening to her and tried to escape from the prison. Jotaro had a complete escape plan to help Jolyne.

Jolyne and Jotaro avoided security and they were about to get out from prison, but Jotaro was attacked while he was trying to help her. All of sudden, Jotaro’s memory and Stand ability were stolen and stored on two discs and taken out from his body!!

Okay...... I, kind of, understand if one’s Stand ability was taken from his or her body, it would not work anymore. However, what is going to happen if their “memory” was taken?

If their memory gets taken, it puts the person in a state of apparent death. The person hasn’t died yet, but if the condition continues, the muscles you use to breathe will get weaker and eventually they will die.

Jolyne chased the prisoner who ran away back into the prison!!

Jolyne saw the Stand that took the DISCs from Jotaro’s body. Even though Jolyne was able to escape from the prison, she returned to prison in order to get the DISCs back for Jotaro who was still in a state of apparent death.

Oh I see...... by the way, why is this considered a prologue?

From here, the story gets more interesting! Jolyne’s purpose in this adventure is to get back the two DISCs that are taken from Jotaro by using her Stand ability! The secrets of this weird prison will be revealed. We hope you can check Part 6 even from here, episode 6!
