Hello everyone. It’s December, huh…… The end of the year usually has a little desolate atmosphere but I’ve been waiting for anime, airing in December. I’m Otaku Republic’s boss.

Aaand hello everyone! It’s Saori from Otaku Republic! Well well…… the last one for Fall 2020 Anime has started to air, huh?

Not the last one but I should say it’s the one came up last among all the Fall 2020 Anime…… huh?

Yep! Finally! Season 4 of THAT series, which is the final season has started to air in December 2020! The original will come to an end pretty soooon! Both anime and the original have reached their climax……! It’s THIS series!

To me, from the opening, it gave me chills. Yeah…… right…… the storyline changes drastically from this episode, huh? I mean all the parts that haven’t been depicted will be shown. It was the perfect opening that matches with mysteriousness and the war which should never be accepted.

And in Episode 1, Season 4, most of the scenes were the battle ones at war, huh?

Right. Honestly, those who haven’t read the original might not be able to understand what those battle scenes imply. However, even those, who saw those battle scenes in the original, didn’t know why they were depicted so I want you to continue to watch after Episode 2, even if you thought “It really didn’t make sense……” after you watch Episode 1.

Oh, I got it. But again, as for the original, the individual comics have already been released…… can you give us a little hint?

Well…… not the hint really…… it’s actually the answer but…… what implied in Episode 1 were the world four years after the end of Season 3, and ‘beyond the wall,’ where the main protagonist, Eren, and his buddies aimed at…… I would say the ‘world across the sea’ is depicted.

The last part in Season 3…… it’s been over a year since July 2019, huh……? The final episode focused on the truth of the ‘island (inside of the wall),’ the truth of ‘kyojin,’ and the ‘enemies,’ existing across the sea, huh?

Yes. Season 1 to 3 mainly focused on, what we call, “the world of the Walls.” Actually, though, there is another world outside of the Walls as well and Episode 1 of Season 4 focused on Eldia people who live outside of the Walls.

That means Season 1 to 3 focused on how ‘people outside of the Walls’ attacked ‘people inside of the Walls’?

Yeah~ To be precise, not everything is correct but you can enjoy watching it with that interpretation, I guess.

Why did people outside of the Walls attack people inside the Walls, in the first place?

About that…… you will see it around final episode of Season 3 but I guess we might see it again to review around Episode 2 of Season 4? This part could actually be the roots of Shingeki no Kyojin, so for now (where Episode 1 airs), I will keep silent.

Oh, by the way, Reiner was there too, huh?

Yeah, he was. He’s grown to be a good-looking guy! The animation of the battle scene around there was just overwhelming……

Actually, a different company was in charge of illustrations this time, from the one which was in charge of them in Season 1 to 3, but this company got a great reputation from this Season, huh?

You know the scene, where tons of Kyojin fall down from the sky, looked too smooth that I even thought I might see it in my dream……

Oh, well. They drive the battles advantageously, using tactics, where ‘they can be Kyojin’ or ‘they use Kyojin.’ It’s quite terrifying to see this, watching this scene again.

It looks like this girl, Gabi, will mainly be depicted, huh? She was in the newly-published key visual too. Her personality is…… not that good, I mean I was thrilled to see her, challenging the strategy, risking her life, just like Eren in the past……

Yeah. Anyhow, Episode 1 was satisfying to me! Thank you for a great work to all the staff!

Even if you cannot catch up the story, I want you to continue to watch until episode 2 or 3. Of course, you can watch Season 3 to review too! If you want more reviews, I would recommend that you should watch around Episode 38 of Season 3! The episode around here will deeply relate with the story in Episode 1 of Season 4!

What if we don’t have a lot of time to even review?

For such busy people, I would say around Episode56~59? That part focuses on ‘the world outside of the Walls’ so if you watch this part…… you might be able to catch up!

So! Shingeki no Kyojin’s Season 4 just came out! I mean, it’s the Final Season! The original will come to end soon so if you haven’t read it yet, or if you haven bee waiting for this for over year, check it out!
