What Is The Legend of Hei (羅小黒戦記)?

“The Legend of Hei” is a 2D flash animation, now popular in China. Its manga series started to be serialized since 2009 and the series of 2D animation was also broadcasted online since March 17th, 2011.

The movie adaptation, which has been a hot topic in Japan, covers the 2D animation’s prequel (a story four year ago), depicting how the main protagonist, a kitten fairy, Luo Xiaohei, and Wu Xian met for the first time. On November 7th, 2020, Japanese dubbed movie by the Japanese voice actors along with the subtitle version are scheduled to be released.

I see…… we’re able to see a Now-Hot Chinese title in Japanese theaters too, huh? That’s awesome and I’m so interested in that!

Nowadays, we’re able to see popular Chinese series here in Japan too, which is so awesome, huh? In 2021, there’s one live-action movie adaptation of a Chinese BL anime, coming up too! Can’t wait!

All right then. Tell us what kind of story The Legend of Hei (羅小黒戦記) is!

Outline of The Legend of Hei (羅小黒戦記)!

There’s unknown creatures existing in this world, which are not known by people, called the fairy. The fairies usually live apart from humans, hiding themselves.

The story is set in the modern world. The cat fairy, called Luo Xiaohei, who has been kicked off from the place he used to live in due to the land development, is now looking for where to live, wandering about.

One day, he meets another fairy, called Feng Xi (Fushi). Feng Xi is a fairy, just like Luo Xiaohei and he saves Luo being attacked by human. He then takes him to a hidden island, where all the fairies who have escaped from humans, stay in. Luo is welcomed as a new family member in such a paradise-like place for the fairies.

However, a human breaks into this hidden shelter on the island. His name is Mugen, also known as the “strongest executor.” Mugen attacks them and Luo ends up being caught by Mugen and taken to the place called the “fairy mansion,” where both fairies and humans live together.

Are the humans enemies for the fairies? Or allies?

Isn’t it possible that the humans who continue to destroy nature, taking fairies’ shelters, and the fairies, which are destined to die out in time, co-exist?

Luo’s various encounters will not only involve himself but also humans and other fairies, leading to a huge incident……!!

The images are so beautiful in this fantasy movie, huh……? The theme is a little serious. I wonder what paths the fairies and humans will end up choosing……!

Actually, the subtitle-version was released prior to the dubbed one. After the subtitle-version was released, it went viral in Japan, with such attractive characters and the dramatic story, which led them to make the dubbed-one adaptation! Some Doujinshi of The Legend of Hei have been released too so after the dubbed version releases, there will be more to come……!?
