Hello everyone! This year, I feel more titles have come to an end, compared to the average year…… It’s Saori from Otaku Republic.
Right. I feel the same way. I’m Otaku Republic’s Boss. Actually, so many titles have, or will conclude(d) this year~.
Aaand this fall…… They finally announced the other day that the Final Season of a title, which is familiar to everybody, will air……!!

MUST Review! The reason why Season 4 will be even more fun if you review the stories all the way to Season 3!

Yeah! Finally, the anime, Shingeki no Kyojin will come to an end……!! The original is scheduled to conclude by this year too…… So it looks like it will completely come to an end……!
So far, it has made into anime three times so this one will be the fourth one (if it airs as it plans), huh?
It’s the fourth one…… I bet many of you can’t remember what kind of story were depicted in each Season…… (like me……)
Yeah, especially those who have already read the original might have forgotten them. So today, let’s do a review (super quick one)!

Season 1
Meeting Kyojin and Joining the Survey Corps

One day, Eren Jaeger’s life ended all of a sudden.
Tons of “Kyojin” invaded to the town, passing over the tall wall, which was built like a fortress. Eren, who was still small, could do nothing but ran away, watching his mother being killed by the Kyojin.
Eren, who managed to survive, swore to revenge on Kyojin.
He applied to the Survey Corps (whose purpose is to ruin the Kyojin) with other survivors, his best friends, Armin Arlelt and Mikasa Acherman.
Eren and his friends were accepted after they accomplished the life-threatening training.
Meanwhile, they found out that Eren had an ability to transform into the Kyojin.
Some of the members at the Survey Corps started to consider him as a dangerous individual.
However, Levi, the strongest warrior of the Survey Corps, decided to manage and supervise Eren, believing that he might be the key to the secret of Kyojin.
Not knowing why he can turn into a Kyojin, Eren started to be able to control his ability. While achieving their work, ruining the Kyojin as the members of the Survey Corps, they found out that there were some “betrayals” in the Corps……!

Season 2
Fighting back against the Kyojin and the hidden secret of the Kyojin

The betrayals found out to the ones that had the ability to turn into the Kyojin, just like Eren.
They asked Eren to become their “buddy”, knowing he had the same ability as them. As Eren rejected the offer, they rose in revolt. They all turned into the Kyojin and tried to take Eren away.
While fighting, they found out that there was a crucial existence, who “had the secret of the world”.
Her name was Krista Lenz. She was also a member of the Survey Corps, just like Eren and was from the loyal family, who was then governing the country.

Various thoughts and speculations were spreading out through these two, who had a strong potential to change the world.

Season 3
The secret the Kyojin had and a conspiracy spreading out in the royal capital

The story took a sudden turn.
They found out that there existed the clan, who had the ability to turn into the Kyojin and they could also “pass down” the ability in a specific way. The person who knew the secret was Eren’s father.
While the Survey Corps was trying to solve the secret, they were suspected by the government, as a “rebel”, which they thought was nothing to do with them.
The enemy then was not the Kyojin but the King who governed the country and the Military Police Brigade, which protected the King.
Getting over their buddies’ death, Eren and his buddies would fight against them to stop the conspiracy that the loyal family was planning.
It was a really quick and easy outline but it’s pretty much all about what happened in Season 1, 2 and 3, I guess. In Season 1, we get to know the worldview and the characters. In Season 2, we get to know the secret of the Kyojin and what kind of condition the country was in, and Season 3 depicts the fighting between those who were maneuvering.
Which season is the most necessary one to watch Season 4?
Definitely Season 3. Of course Season 1 and 2 are important too but various secrets will be revealed in Season 3 so you should know them before you watch Season 4 to catch up.

What will be depicted in Season 4?

I’ve heard that Season 4 will be about the content of Volume 23 to 26 of the original comics, which are supposedly about the world, four years after the Season 3. Eren and his buddies are then 19 years old, trying to solve the secret of the world, “Why do those who can turn into the Kyojin exist?” And also, the true meaning of the title “Shingeki no Kyojin” will be revealed in this season!

I would recommend that you should watch Anime if you want to review the stories of Season 1, 2 and 3, and you should read the comics if you want to go over Season 4! However you like! Let’s prepare for the Final Season of Shingeki no Kyojin!
