Today, as usual, I’ll feature a Review Session for Season 1 before Season 2 airs!!

The Worldview of Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force /炎炎ノ消防隊)!

The world is set in the different era in Tokyo.

The Great Disaster happened, with the world mostly consumed in flame with many nations destroyed and most of the planet rendered uninhabitable.

Human beings are turned into living infernos called “infernals / Homura Bito”. Homura Bito lose self-consciousness and burn themselves and everything around them. The “Special Fire Force” was formed to save citizens from such Homura Bito and the threat of the flames, and to look for the cause and solution for this phenomenon.

The main character, Shinra Kusakabe, joins the Special Fire Force, to chase the firebug, who killed his mother and younger brother, and blamed that on him when he was little……!

The theme of this title is the【Firefighter】but some of the Chara have innate superpower, where “they can control the flames”!

And to get rid of Homura Bito, they have to destroy the part called “Core”, that resides in Homura Bito, and then holds the ritual…… I mean more like a pray, called “Chinkon” (repose of souls). Therefore, some nuns are also the members of the Special Fire Force, playing an important role on saving the world together.”

So that means we can’t just beat Homura Bito, huh?

Right. Many nuns don’t have an ability to control the flames but they have to go to the dangerous sites. They still try their best so they can save citizens from the fire or Homura Bito!

I wonder why there exists people who can control the flames……

That’s because there are just a few Homura Bito who can get their self-consciousness back. If they marry and have children, the children can take over their DNA, and they can control the flames. That’s how such people are increased.

Homura Bito are called a ‘First Generation’. And people who are called a ‘Second Generation’ can control the flames but cannot create them on their own. And people who are called a ‘Third Generation’ can both control and create the flames.

By the way, the main character, Shinra-Kun, belongs to a ‘Third Generation’ so he can create the flames from his legs!

Mmm…… Then the members of the Special Fire Force can ignite the flames that Homura Bito create?

That’s a thing. Nobody can control the flames that are created by Homura Bito. So…… even though the Special Fire Force exists, it looks like some people, having the power of Homura Bito, are active behind the scenes, huh?

Season 1 depicted the whole worldview and the enemies of Shinra-Kun in the Special Fire Force became cleared! Season 2 will depict the rest of the story so let’s review Season 1 now!
