So today! The brand-new HIPHOP Mix Media Project is now kicking off!! We’re featuring it in this article before it gets too hot in Japan!

What is a Paradox Live?

It’s a HIPHOP mix media project collaboration between AVEX and Gcrest.

The world is set in the near future where the rappers create the illusion by having the accessary called “Phant Metals” and their own DNA react each other and eventually, a new music movement “Phantom Live” gains massive popularity among young people. But on the other hand, they do struggle with the “Trauma’s Illusion” as the bad reaction as well.

One day, such popular FOUR music groups, “BAE” “The Cat’s Whiskers” “cozmez” and “AKYR [Bad Guys/悪漢奴等]” received the invitation to the mystery music festival, “Paradox Live” from the legendary club “CLUB paradox”. Differentiated from different music styles, the music groups try to fight to the top.

Why are the recent HIPHOP-related titles set in the future?

Maybe because that way, they can perform more gorgeous, no? But again, we’ll see totally different worldview from Hypnosismic with different Chara so… let’s get start it now!

BAE（ベイ）

Bae consists on three private college students: From the left side,

Yeon Hajun
- A track maker and super sadist rapper with sweet smiles
Sugasano Allen
- A model, a HIPHOP Otaku and tsun-dere (usually cold but sometimes affectionate) rapper
Anne Faulkner
- A nightclub host and a going-his-way trap rapper

They all have dark past where their parents never admitted their individuals or their preference and hobbies. But now they focus on freedom.

The Cat’s Whiskers（ザ・キャッツウィスカーズ）

The Cat’s Whiskers consists on four members who either manage or work at the bar: From the left side,

Saimon Naoakira
- The owner of the bar & a college professor. A sorrowful and sophisticated rapper
Natsume Ryu
- An apprentice bartender and mysterious super hyper rapper
Ando Shiki
- A waiter in the bar, negative small-animal-like rapper
Kanbayashi Yohei
- A master of the bar. A strong rapper who keeps the faith

Only Saimon and Kanbayashi used to be in the same group but Natsume and Ando came to the bar they own. While Saimon and Kanbayashi are taking care of them, they ended up forming the group of four. While Saimon and Kanbayashi are kind and take good care of others, Ando and Natsume support their group with their high talent of the rap.

cozmez（コズメズ）

cozmez consists on twins, who are orphans in the poor town: From the left side,

Nayuta Yatonokami
- A downer-style rapper who worries about the world
Kanata Yatonokami
- A downer-style rapper who hates the world

Since they were raised, oppressed by adults, they never trust anyone except for each other. They don’t work and manage their life with the prize from the rap battle.

AKYR [Bad Guys/悪漢奴等]

AKYR consists on five mysterious members (high school students and the managers of the nightclub): From the left side,

Maruyama Reo
- A high school student. An energetic and emotional rapper.
Ito Satsuki
- A high school student. An energetic and emotional rapper.
Gaho Zen
- A host at the nightclub. A passionate rapper who helps the weak and crush the strong.
Suiseki Iori
- The owner of the nightclub. A happy rapper with a good vibe.
Masaki Hokusai
- A high school student (24yrs) A bit-off rapper who is quiet and loves cats.
Ito Satsuki
- A high school student. A rapper who loves to fight.

The owner of the nightclub, Suiseki, is taking care of them as his “family” after he saved them. Even though he is the owner of the nightclub, he never have the high school students work there. Gaho is an ex-police officer and always tries to listen to their customers’ worries. He’s more like a consultant than a host.

Wow. They all have heavy personalities and background, huh?

Yeah! That’s the point of this title! As I mentioned above, the near-future illusion rap battle makes them struggle with the “Traumatic Illusion” by another reaction as well. Therefore, the introduction of all the characters have the items called【Week Points】and【Trauma】~!

The CD comes in not only the music of each unit but the drama part about their daily life! I bet this title will do a various media development from now on! Since the 1st CD released on February 12th, 2020, now we can’t wait for what’s coming next!!
