Saori(゜∇ ゜) “Actually, Yuri!!! on Ice first aired in October, 2016… Yes, it’s been three years. Congrats! Three Years! And guess what? This has made a huge hit and even Olympic figure skater used it for his performance!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “The couplings we picked out in such a popular title are…. these three!”

The relationship of the two: A freewheeling coach and a desperate skater, who’s been controlled by him

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “First off, the story, Yuri!!! on Ice, started when a great pro figure skater, Victor Nikiforov, who had achieved four grand prix finals, showed up in front of a miserable figure skater, Katsuki Yuuri, who got the worst record in the grand prix finals!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “Yuuri, who got the worst record, went back to his hometown, and tried Victor’s choreography and skated himself. Guess what? The video got uploaded to the website and ended up being watched by not only the pro figure skaters in the world but also by Victor himself…!!”

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “In this story, there are actually two Chara who are named ‘ユーリ’. The other one is a 15-year-old Russian figure skater, Yuri Plisetsky,.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “He wasn’t able to participate in the grand prix finals because his age didn’t meet the condition. Knowing that he will be able to participate in the grand prix final next year, Yuri yelled at Katsuki Yuuri (I put his whole name here to avoid confusion), who was crying in the bathroom, ‘If you are not talented, then just get out of here!!’ Wow… Yuri, you crossed the line… Maybe he was mentally ill because his loving doggy just passed away… I don’t blame on him because he didn’t know that yet in that timing!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “What’s worse? Yuri Plisetsky decided to come to Japan, following Victor, who is now a coach for Katsuki Yuuri! The reason why he came is because Victor made a promise to Yuri that if Yuri wins the junior competition without the quadruple jump, Victor will offer him choreography which matches with his program music! Yuri Plisetsky actually kept that promise and made it but he found out that Victor was a coach for another skater! He felt that he was deceived by Victor, and ended up having followed him to Japan! I’m sure he got furious!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “Like this, Yuri Plisetsky blows up at Katsuki Yuuri from time to time (It’s all Victor’s fault because he had completely forgotten about their promise, though..) but their passion is definitely genuine. Katsuki Yuuri is stimulated by Yuri Plisetsky’s performance, full of youth, suppleness and expression, while Yuri Plisetsky starts feeling a little panicked also stimulated by Katsuki Yuuri, who was at the very bottom at the grand prix final, are now improving so much…!”

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “The best part of these two’s relationship is that Yuri Plisetsky is really ‘cute’! Sometimes he’s sarcastic but it’s not spiteful… instead, it’s just a little ‘saucy’! So I always feel heartwarming to see them being together. Yuri even gave a special Piroshki to Yuuri for his birthday! …which means they don’t hate each other from the bottom of their heart but they are such good rivals in any ways!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “The relationship of these two is well depicted as ‘two ユーリ’s growth’ in the story. They don’t appear as often as the couple, Yuuri and Victor, which I mentioned above, but they will be depicted as the best rivals who enhance with each other. The relationship of the two: “Friends” who encountered in a strange way

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “I gotta tell you! These two, Otabek and Yuri, are also heartwarming to see too!! Actually, they made friends each other in Episode 10! Since the Final Episode is Episode 12, the timeframe when they are shown is so much shorter than any other Chara.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “How they met was very simple. Otabek helped out Yuri, who was having difficulties being chased by his fans. But it wasn’t their first encounter. Otabek saw Yuri five years before when they were having a training camp~.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saori(゜∇ ゜) “Otabek expressed the eyes of Yuri at that time, just like the ‘soldier’. Actually, it was when both of them were having such a hard time to achieve the good results.
