Mafuyu(^q^): Hi, our friends. It’s Mafuyu from Otaku Republic!

Do you all know that certain fashion brands have often collaborated with anime or game?

They just announced the collaboration of Gintama and earth music&ecology!

It’s a dream-like thing that we can put on the same outfit as a character...!!!

http://fukuota.info/news/

By the way, my favorite anime, Love Live, has collaborated with a fashion brand too!

http://nlab.itmedia.co.jp/

Other than those, more anime, such as Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko's Basketball) or Card Captor Sakura, have their collabrated clothes on sale as well.

Like this, fashion and anime are connected with each other...!

I want everybody who visits Otaku Republic to know more about the Japanese Kawaii fashion...!!!

So today, we’ll feature fashion, especially Lolita Fashion, which I used to wear a couple years ago!!

The title is...

A fashion originated in Japan! A special number for the Lolita Fashion~

What is the Lolita Fashion?

Lolita Fashion is a fashion subculture originated in Japan, full of girls’ dream “wanting to be a princess”.

It’s a “princess”-like fashion with the predominant colors: white or pink, and excessive amount of frills and laces.

“Lolita Fashion” started to be used as a category of fashion especially in magazine since the beginning of 1990. Then after the great hit movie, “Shimotsuma-Monogatari”, 2004, in which the main character’s outfit was Lolita Fashion, it finally came to be known throughout Japan.

Lolita Fashion is one of the Japanese Kawaii Culture and is also well-known in the world!

Take a look at Harajuku (in Tokyo) here. So many Lolita-Brand-Shops in Harajuku are clustered on B1 and 5th floor in the commercial building called “Laforet”. You’ll see so many women wearing the Lolita Fashion as well!

The Types of Lolita Fashion

Actually, “Lolita Fashion” has many types.

Since there are so many kinds, I’ll just pick some of them and share them with you guys this time ε('-'*)з

・甘ロリ(Ama[sweet]-Loli)

Ama-Loli is one of the Lolita Fashion’s types, which consists of “CUTE” fashion such as the patterns of outfit, small articles (bags or hair accessories) and make-up.

You might also hear 白ロリ(Shiro[white]-Loli), 黒ロリ(Kuro[black]-Loli), サックスロリ(Sax-Loli) and ピンクロリ(Pink-Loli). They are all classified as “Ama-Loli”.

※Shiro-Loli indicates all-white outfit including hair accessories, bags and shoes. So do Kuro-Loli, Sax-Loli and Pink-Loli.

This is an actual dress! Isn’t it so cute with all the laces, frills and ribbons?

Conan-kun, who saw Ran looking different from usual, was so cute, blushed on his face!

・Cla-Loli

Cla-Loli is an abbreviation of “Classical Lolita”.

It’s more like medieval-ladies and madams-like style and less louder than Ama-Loli. It’s an elegant-style Lolita Fashion.

This classy atmosphere is so attractive!

Here’s one example of this fashion with a character in manga!

Classical and kind of fragile atmosphere... She’s so lovely ୧꒰*´꒳`*꒱૭✧

・Goth-Loli (Gothic & Lolita)

Goth-Loli indicates sweet and cute Lolita Fashion with some devastated elements such as a cross.

They mostly wear outfits and small articles whose colors are dark, mainly black, deep crimson, deep blue.

Like the picture below, she looks so cute and her black outfit stands out with a dark make-up with mainly black and red.

(A difference between this fashion and Kuro-Loli as I mentioned above, is whether they have dark elements or not. For instance, in Kuro-Loli, they wear outfits with cuter patterns or put cuter make-up, even though their outfits are black.)

・Kote-Loli

Kote-Loli is an abbreviation of Kote-Kote (Heavily, Thickly) Lolita.

It literally indicates a heavy and thick Lolita Fashion from head to foot.

Hair accessories are abundant! A whole body is coordinated with pastel shades even with a wig on!

Loud and Unique!
