The feature of the holy place of female Otaku, Ikebukuro, where every Otaku wants to go once!

Mafuyu(^q^): Hi, our friends. It’s Mafuyu from Otaku Republic!

Speaking of the town that Otaku people always gather in Japan, you imagine…

Akihabara!

And, the popular place for female Otaku among Otaku is…

Ikebukuro!

In Ikebukuro, there is a street called ‘Otome road’, tightly packed with shops selling anime goods and Doujinshi for ladies, and full of Otaku people are gathering around the area.

・Otome road

Also, anime events such as AGF are often held in Ikebukuro, which is one of the points that girls gather! (If you want to know more about AGF, please see this★)

So, this time I would like to feature Ikebukuro, where Otaku ladies gather!

I would like to introduce my recommended shops that I always go to whenever I go to Ikebukuro. ╰(*´︶`*)╯

~The feature of the holy place of female Otaku, Ikebukuro, where every Otaku wants to go once!~

・Toranoana

Toranoana is a shop where we can purchase products for Otaku such as Doujinshi, Doujin goods, commercial manga, anime-related movies/music software, and books.

Ikebukuro has 2 shops of shop A and shop B, and shop B sells Doujinshi for ladies.

When you cannot go to a display and sale of Doujinshi, you can get Doujinshi that you wanted at Toranoana instead if a member of the circle sells on a commission basis. ٩( 'ω' )و

・Animate

Ikebukuro has the main shop of Animate. The shop has all the 9 floors of its own building!!

However! The great thing is not only the height of the buildings.

In this fantastic shop, you can buy almost anything related to anime, such as books like comics/Doujinshi/light novels, anime goods like character goods/trading cards/small toys sold with snacks/anime lottery, software like games/CD/DVD/Blu-ray!

Other than that,

Its elevators and stairs are sometimes decorated in a specific anime during limited period (Uta no Prince-sama is the theme of the current decoration),

In front of the shop, there is sometimes Gashapon (also known as ‘Ani-Kapu’ from Anime Capsule) and sometimes a kitchen car is parked.

The kitchen car is like a mobile Animate café (the café managed by Animate, collaborated with works like anime/game/manga), and we can order drinks where only Animate café has and purchase Animate café-limited goods at the car ★

Depending on the period, the anime works that collaborates are different.

(e.g. Osomatsu-san during November ○ to ○, Prince of Stride during December ○ to ○)

I also ordered a drink at a kitchen car during the period collaborated with Osomatsu-san.

I got a special coaster as well so I got really excited. ⊂(´ω`⊂ )

Todo-matsu Cute~♥♥

・LASHINBANG

LASHINBANG has 2 shops – one is in a building in front of Animate Ikebukuro’s main shop and another one is on Otome Road !

The building in front of Animate Ikebukuro’s main shop has a shop on B1 floor and 5th floor.

The B1 floor has used goods of boys’ comics such as Jump/Sunday/Magazine, while 5th floor has more used Doujinshi for ladies.

・The below photo is the entrance of Doujinshi section.

Also, LASHINBANG located on Otome Road has wagons in front of the shop like the below photo.

Those wagons are always full of discounted special goods, so there are always many people coming around the wagons!

I took this picture on the same day with AGF, so there were so many people!!

The good thing is that we can get a treasure-level goods at a low price although they are used goods. ( ✧Д✧)

・Stellaworth

Stellaworth is a shop basically selling ladies’ items such as TV games/computer software/Doujinshi/Doujin software!

I often go to Stellaworth and purchase girlie games and situation CD.

If you purchase something at Stellaworth, some buyers’ special presents are given, which makes me happy.

Also, there are Stellaworth’s original Gashapon boxes, so I sometimes go and play them. └('ω')┘

・NAMJATOWN

NAMJATOWN is an inside theme park in a huge commercial facility called Sunshine City.

It often has a collaboration events of anime and game works, so many Otaku people are coming and enjoying there.

Currently, there is an event collaborated with Yowamushi Pedal, so I just went there recently!

In NAMJATOWN, you can eat some collaboration foods.

Also, you can play games and get gifts depending on the result, so it’s very interesting.

I also played some games and got a lot of gifts!

The characters’ ears are getting cat ears, and they are very cute!

・K-BOOKS

K-BOOKS Anime-Kan

K-BOOKS Doujin-Kan

Actually, K-BOOKS has 9 shops just in Ikebukuro. (´゚д゚`)

Those shops vary depending on the goods to be sold – a shop sells used goods of anime/games/manga works. Another shop sells used Doujinshi and Doujin goods. Also, we have a shop selling goods related to voice actors, and a shop having cosplay goods…it’s a wide variety!

I often go to 2 shops of a shop selling goods (Anime-Kan) and a shop selling Doujinshi (Doujin-Kan)!

・K-BOOKS the entrance of Anime-Kan

・K-BOOKS inside the shop of Doujin-Kan

So many used goods and Doujinshi are sold, so you will most likely find your ‘treasure’ over there!

・Mandarake

Mandarake is a famous shop located in Nakano and Akihabara etc. and the Ikebukuro shop is a special shop for BL (YAOI/ Shounen Ai)/Girls’ comics/female Doujin goods!

As you can see photos, many Doujinshi are lined up on the shelves.

Amazingly, things are separated well depending on the genre so it’s very easy to see! And, not to mention, the number of the books are crazily a lot!

There are many used Doujinshi and Doujin goods, so please stop by there ♪

Besides these, Ikebukuro has a shop selling goods of actors playing character roles when some anime become plays and a shop selling goods of voice actors and their CD and DVD. So, Ikebukuro is full of dreams!
