Magic vs. Technology! And Yuri!? Izetta: The Last Witch

Among them, I would like to introduce an original TV anime, Shuumatsu no Izetta (Izetta: The Last Witch)! This anime has a friendship and battles of a descendant of a witch, Izetta, and a princess, Finé, who fatefully meet again each other. In 1939, a European powerhouse, the imperialist nation of Germania, suddenly started invading the neighboring countries. This battle expanded to the whole Europe, and Britannia and other surrounding countries lost because of the sudden attack with the corporation of both airplanes and heavy tanks.

In 1940, Germania was trying to head to a small country located in the southern region across the border, the Principality of Elystadt.

The story takes place in a world, where is historically very close. The time setting is already interesting for the people who loves war stories and historical tales. ( ´ー｀)⊃⊂(´ー｀ )

 

To avoid the invasion of Germania in advance, Finé, the princess of Elystadt, went to the next country to try to get a help from an officer of Britannia. However, Germania already started invading Elystadt and she got captured by a soldier of Germania.

In the transport plane bringing Finé, there was a coffin which is the top secret of Germania, and the witch, Izetta, was sleeping in it. Once Izetta woke up and found that Finé got damaged by a soldier of Germania, she dashingly saved Finé!!! She got on a rifle and fought!!

While those two escaping from the transporting plane were trying to go to Elystadt, the formation of Germania found them. Although Izetta has promised with her grandmother that she won’t use any magical power, she broke the promise and used the power to fight. After that, they got together with the military of Elystadt, which lost after its defense of a fort, and decided to hide.

Izetta said that she will fight to protect Finé, but Finé refused it because she didn’t want Izetta to get involved. In the meantime, a notice was delivered that the important place of Elystadt’s protection, the Kennenberk fortress is getting a severe attack from the military of Germania. Hearing that, Izetta completely destroyed the opponent tanks and planes alone!

Spears and swords are flying like Funnels with magic, which is super cool! She was rampaging by flipping over and throwing away tanks. She can shoot even tanks with bullets with putting her power in. Izetta brought a victory to Elystadt as WeisHexe, the white witch of Elystadt.

The story, the drawing, and the music are all delicately made. I am sure the military lovers will also get excited about this. However, what I really would like to tell you is that Finé-sama is super cute!!!

Izetta is sincerest enough to make the admirer wonder why even, saying like:

 

“She is the only one who said that the magical power is wonderful” and“I like myself thanks to the princess”. 

 

Also, Finé believes that Izetta is her friend, but Izetta said that she is afraid to be Finé’s friend. The relationship that both of them acknowledge each other as a special one may be the root of supporting their strong bond.

 

The situation of them is very severe, and the description of Opening and Ending makes me feel so worried about how the story will go on, but I would like to keep watching and take care of them!
