1. Heshikiri Hasebe へし切長谷部

He is the sword which used to be owned by Oda Nobunaga.

Check out 2^nd episode, and you can learn the origin of his name.

He is brave and has an absolute loyalty, always wanting his owner to be needed.

If anybody should interrupt the way he lives, he would show no mercy to him/her, no matter if that’s his ally or enemy.

He declared that he would do anything if that’s what his owner orders, saying “If that’s the Shumei (主命 / his owner’s order)...”. Even though he sometimes spins his wheels, while he’s trying too hard, that’s one of his charms.

2. Ima no Tsurugi 今剣

He is the sword which used to be owned by Minamoto no Yoshitsune.

And this sword is known to be the one which Yoshitsune used for when he committed a suicide, stabbing himself in the belly.

He is cheerful and energetic but does things at his own pace and is mischievous too.

Just like his owner, he is good at fighting swiftly.

Even though he looks young, he is actually much over than other characters since it’s a sword 1000 years ago.

His cloth’s motif is Japanese-style “Tengu 天狗” and Saori secretly loves it.

*Tengu are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion and are also considered a type of Shinto God or Yokai (supernatural beings).

 

 

 

 

3. Maeda Toushirou　前田藤四郎

Wow!! So bright!!

He is one of the brothers who are called “Awataguchi （粟田口）”.

Anybody whose names are ●●Toushirou (藤四郎) are all his siblings. Yes, there are many...

He is very kind and always cares about people. Once in battles, he is such a gallant warrior!

He also has an absolute loyalty but he hopes to give priority to living his life than to fighting for victory.

Saori feels so happy to see him being adorable and playful, just like how he looks in anime.

4 Nikkari Aoe　にっかり青江

The origin of his name comes from: “Such a sharp sword that it cut a stone lantern when it cut the woman grinning (Nikkari [Nikkori]) ghost, which Aoe made”.

Both his personality and appearance are so mature and his word and deed are so sexy that we tend to be puzzled..

“What are you gonna do with me, trying to take off my clothes? (When he was injured)”,

“Horses are huge, aren’t they? ..... I mean horses’ bodies, okay? (When he saw a horse)” and etc...

Aoe is kind, playful and strong.

But the best thing about him is sexiness that he can never hide, I guess.

5. Hachisuka Kotetsu 蜂須賀虎徹

Even though he is often mistaken for Gold Saint, he is one of the Touken Ranbu’s characters.

That means he is beautiful and proud enough to be mistaken.

Even though he is serious and kind, he is sometimes like a critic when it comes to telling a difference between something genuine and fake.

He is proud that he is a “genuine” sword among all the “Kotetsu” series.

Because most swords in “Kotetsu” series are well known to be fake. But among them, Hachisuka Kotetsu is absolutely a genuine sword that the person named “Kotetsu” made.

The reason why I explain this far is because he has two brothers.

The younger brother, Urashima Kotetsu is the genuine sword that Kotetsu made but the older brother, Nagasone Kotetsu is known to be fakes that Kotetsu didn’t make.

He seems to be quite a difficult person but don’t dislike him since he is actually a kind person.
