Mafuyu(^q^): Hi, our friends. It’s Mafuyu from Otaku Republic!

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Hi, our friends. It’s Aoi from Otaku Republic!

Mafuyu(^q^): So, Aoi, you finally tried GUNPLA (Gundam Plastic Model) in Aoi & Mafuyu TIMES last week, didn’t you?

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Yep! I’m not confident enough to try a high-level GUNPLA (Gundam Plastic Model) just yet but I will definitely want to try that someday.

Mafuyu(^q^): Wow! Can’t wait until then, huh? Like I said that I have tried the Ita-chocolate in Aoi & Mafuyu TIMES Vol.16, I want to try a little higher-level of chocolate and make a cake for Tokiya’s birthday next.

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Sounds great! Show us here in Aoi & Mafuyu TIMES when you actually make it, okay?

Mafuyu(^q^): Of course I will! You know what? I made the Ita-chocolate, taking some pictures at the same time so I can share them with our friends! So... guess what? I’m going to share how to make the Ita-chocolate with you guys today!

~Let’s make Ita-chocolate!~

About two months ago...

“It’s Ichinose Tokiya’s Birthday on August 6th. Since I celebrated his birthday with a cake that I bought so this year, I want to make my handmade cake for him...!”

Thinking about that, I hit upon a great idea after I searched for various things! This is what even I, who is a little clumsy, can do...

Ita-chocolate!

Ita-chocolate is a chocolate that has a character’s drawing on!

In Japan, it’s been so popular to make Ita-chocolate on Valentine’s Day or characters’ birthdays.

It’s so high in quality that we even doubt if it’s really a chocolate... (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)(;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
...Ahhhh... I’m getting less confident of making such Ita-chocolate... (つ﹏⊂)

No way. I gotta do this with my LOVE POWER for him!

I’ll make the lovely Ita-chocolate just like the one in the picture above!

Here we go! Let’s get started with my passionate heart for him!

Here is what we need!

1. Parchment Paper

2. Chocolate Pens

3. White Chocolate

4. Food Coloring (Only if you want it to be colored)

5. Character’s picture that you want to draw

How To Make

1. Trace the character’s picture by putting it under the parchment paper. (I recommend that you should use a permanent marker.)

2. Flip the paper over and trace the line with a chocolate pen. (I recommend that you should use something small such as a toothpick on a very detailed part.)

3. Let it cool down in the refrigerator.

4. After the chocolate gets hard, put some colors on it.

5. Let it cool down in the refrigerator.

6. After the chocolate gets hard, put some white chocolate on top. (Make the white chocolate a little thick.)

7. Let it cool down in the refrigerator.

8. If you can make sure that the chocolate gets completely hard, take the chocolate off from the parchment paper.

9. It’s done!

...Mmm???

It looked great at the beginning but it doesn’t even look good now...

“Seriously? You’re incredible...”

I can hear Tokiya’s disappointing voice... That bad, you know...?

“What’s a good memory of summer?” “My birthday that everybody celebrates.”
It’s THAT important for Tokiya....

There’s no way I can celebrate his precious birthday with this messed up chocolate!!!

Pump it up, me!!!!

I’ll try it again!!!

First, let me compare the completed Ita-chocolate with the model picture...

His eyes are not shiny enough!!!!

I’ll make another try! This time, I’ll trace everything nicely even on the detailed parts...

Mm? I can tell this looks more like Tokiya than the last one!

To make eyes more shiny, this time, I only put the coloring on hair.

It’s beautifully done!

I think it’s better than the last one...!!

1. Make sure you trace everything nicely including the detailed part from the very beginning.

2. Make sure you make it in a room with a cool temperature so the chocolate won’t melt.

3. Put THICK white chocolate on top. (It it’s thin, it breaks when you take it off from the parchment paper.)

These three points are very important!!

Lastly... Happy Birthday, Tokiya!

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Wow~ You made it twice, huh? I was amazed to see how improved you were at the second time though.

Mafuyu(^q^): I was so disappointed when I messed it up first but I was happy since I finally made it at the second time. I wanna be able to make it better next time like this picture though!

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Oh.... My... God........!!! I can’t imagine that they are actually chocolate! It’s ART, isn’t it?

Mafuyu(^q^): Not only the chocolate but some people also make characters’ cookies or bento (Japanese-style lunch box).

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): Whoa~ It’s too beautiful to even eat~

Mafuyu(^q^): Exactly...! I’m jealous of their good skill... But I’m okay! Because I made such a lovely, original Ita-chocolate even though I’m clumsy!

Why don’t you guys give it a try and make Ita-chocolate?!

Okay our friends! This is all for today! It’s Aoi’s turn next week. Look forward to it~
