Mafuyu(^q^): Nope, not at all.

Aoi( ´_ゝ`): I really want people in the world to know about attraction of Minashiro Soushi! So now, let’s talk a little about him!

Minashiro Soushi is one of the characters from Fafner in the Azure. He is a friend of the main character, Kazuki Makabe and is also thought to be ‘a sub main character’. The story is about battle against the mysterious enemy, Festum, who came from the universe.

 

If I tell you about his attraction, it will almost become a spoiler...
Mmm.. Since it’s my birthday, I’ll share a setting related with names, with you!

‘Your name is the very first love that a child can get from his/her parents.” That’s what Maron-can from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (Phantom Thief Jeanne) was saying. (｀･ω･´)+!

 

His name in this story represents a position that he should be in.

Let me resolve his name, Minashiro Soushi, into smaller parts. Kanji Character of his name is 皆城総士.

皆(mina)＝everyone  城(shiro)＝castle
総(sou) =control  士(shi)＝soldier

As you can see each meaning, he’s literally a soldier who fights for people, controlling other soldiers in the fortress (castle) called Tatsumiya-Island. (・ω・)ノ

He tends to be thought that he is a cold person since he always tries to put his priority on his purpose of defending the island instead of having his private emotions. He has strong sense of duty and responsibility that he has to defend Tatsumiya-Island where his friends live. But actually, he’s been struggled being between ‘himself as a leader’ and “himself who purely thinks that he wants to save his friends’.

Also, K (K Project)’s name is derived from a Japanese myth, characters appearing in Evangelion are derived from ships or submarines and characters appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing have hidden numbers in their names, etc.... There are a variety of origins or mysteries!

 

Those origins are sometimes exposed in the story or are exposed formally as a hidden setting or even just the belief that fans guess. You might like each character even more if you research their names, looking them up in the Internet or a dictionary or even imagining as if you were his/her parent(*´꒳`*)!
