When I first saw this trailer, I felt that it stayed quite close to the original manga, and I could feel a lot of effort and respect for the work~! So, starting in 2027, the broadcast of the latest Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo anime series commemorating the 50th anniversary of the series’ serialization has been decided!

The fun of being able to somehow just watch it every time, and the episodic stories are so interesting!
What is Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo,
which is not at all too late to start watching now?

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo is a manga work that boasts the longest serialization period in Weekly Shonen Jump, totaling 203 volumes! Running for 40 years from 1976 to 2016 in weekly serialization without taking a single break, it is an extremely famous work that holds the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous serialization of a manga by a single author on a shonen magazine, and it concluded in September 2016 in its 40th year of serialization with its 200th volume!

If asked what kind of manga it is, it is a bit difficult to explain; it is a gag manga where Kankichi Ryotsu, a police sergeant at a police box who lives in modern times just like us, talks about all sorts of things like current events, subculture, or making money, trying to make huge sums of money without going illegal, and fails every single time! There are many quite famous scenes, so aren't there many people who think, Ah! I know this scene!?

Even though it is a gag manga, Ryo-san is a police officer after all and firmly possesses a sense of justice, so he is very likable! He firmly confronts acts of making money by making someone unnecessarily unhappy or disrupting world order (though since he is greedy, there are times when he aims to snatch it for himself), and there certainly was a brilliance to its episodic nature and the fun of understanding how the world works a bit when reading it, making people think, I’ll just read it for now. There was also a sense of security that it was published every week, so when I heard it was reaching its final chapter, I really couldn't believe it... Even now, I still sometimes think that serialization might resume again.

So! I’m quite happy that it’s getting an anime adaptation in this day and age! For those who don't know it, please check out what kind of work it is by following the anime series starting its broadcast in 2027!
