This time! I am picking up this title from the upcoming summer anime that I'm interested in! The popular light novel, brought to the screen by Kyoto Animation after 8 long years, is finally getting into motion!

However, due to a strange twist of fate,
the story begins to move once again...!

Amazingly, this title Sparks of Tomorrow won the Honorable Mention in the Full-Length Novel Category at the 8th Kyoto Animation Awards. Although its anime adaptation was announced back in 2018, it couldn't make progress due to various circumstances... But finally! It is a light novel work that has finally managed to be adapted into an anime this summer!

The younger brother's dream,

The book of invention ideas that chronicled that dream,
”Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku”,
was lost along with the brother who died in battle...
or so it was supposed to be.

To briefly explain the synopsis of Sparks of Tomorrow, the story is set in Kyoto around the 40th year of the Meiji period (early 20th century), when Western culture and electrical technology were beginning to permeate. (The anime version has been slightly modified to be set in a fictional Japan where only steam engines developed!) A boy named Kihachi, along with his older brother, was enthusiastic about 'filling the approaching future with electricity,' and was writing down predictions that imagined electrical inventions to be created in the future in a notebook called Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku.

However, that dream was lost when his older brother died in battle. Since his brother died while carrying the Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku, the Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku also went missing, and Kihachi's dream had come to an end... or so it was supposed to be.

A few years later, the stagnant situation takes a sudden turn. Incredibly, a girl named Inako, who possesses the Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku, appears right in front of Kihachi. With the dream he thought he had lost appearing before his eyes once again, Kihachi cannot help but spring into action...!

An anime adaptation 8 years in the making! So they are really putting a lot of effort into it! Everyone, please check out the anime Sparks of Tomorrow, which is also sprinkled with mysteries that will leave you wanting to know what happens next after watching just the first episode!
