So, what exactly is Mob Psycho 100? It’s a manga series that began serialization on Shonen Sunday’s web platform in 2012! By 2022, the total number of copies in circulation had surpassed 2.8 million, and in addition to being adapted into an anime, it was even turned into a live-action drama in Japan. It’s a hugely popular work that has expanded across many forms of media!

Mob Psycho 100 centers around Mob, a boy with overwhelming psychic powers who believes himself to be plain...... or rather, who simply wishes to live as a normal person, and Reigen, the fake psychic who gave Mob life advice several years earlier, sincerely encouraged him, and now casually has Mob help with spirit-exorcism jobs.

Mob knows that Reigen cleverly takes advantage of him, but he also knows Reigen never truly deceives people excessively, works hard solving various problems through his odd-jobs business, and even charges surprisingly low fees. Mob understands that while Reigen can be sneaky and manipulative when persuading troubled people and somehow bringing cases to a resolution, he’s also genuinely sincere deep down. That’s why Mob continues to support him. The supernatural comedy created by this mismatched duo is incredibly entertaining! Since the original manga was written by ONE, the creator of One-Punch Man, the sharp humor, fast pacing, and occasionally amazing action scenes are absolutely worth watching!

The manga has already ended, and the anime adaptation fully covered the story through its finale, so you might think there’s nothing left to adapt...... but actually, there’s still one more work remaining! That’s the spin-off series REIGEN ~The Man with MAX Spirit Level 131~! As the title suggests, Reigen himself is the protagonist, and the story takes place after the final chapter of the original manga. However, there’s only enough material for a single volume, so it doesn’t quite have enough content for a full 12-episode anime season. Still, just like I mentioned earlier, there’s a chance that at the real-life event planned for July 2026, an animated adaptation of REIGEN might finally be announced! And even if it isn’t, this is still the perfect opportunity to experience the wonderful series Mob Psycho 100 as it celebrates its 10th anniversary!
