Today, I'm talking about that anime that quietly reached its 5th anniversary, even though there haven't been any big movements! Surprisingly, many people might have seen this anime. That taxi...... where is it driving now?

Has it really been 5 years already...... How nostalgic! Once again, Odd Taxi is an anime that aired in April 2021! It's an original anime with 13 episodes centered around the 'case of a missing high school girl' where various human...... no, animal relationships expand, eventually leading to an unbelievable truth.

The protagonist is Odogawa, a taxi driver. The passengers he picks up in his taxi all seem unrelated at first glance...... but actually, every character is involved in the 'case of a missing high school girl' somewhere. The structure of this story is extremely interesting; while the first half firmly expands the world through conversations with passengers...... in the second half, the story construction is just so good! From a certain moment, the investigation into the missing person case suddenly begins, and from there, the incident moves closer and closer to the truth...... I still remember getting chills at the very last moment of the final episode.

I feel like the reason for Odd Taxi's hit was, of course, that the story was incredibly good, but being an original anime was also a strong point. Fans would heatedly theorize after each weekly broadcast about the outline and truth of the incident revealed bit by bit. Where is the missing high school girl? Is she alive? Is she dead?? Or...... if she's dead, who is the culprit? What on earth happened in the first place? It was truly fascinating how it all became clear little by little, like peeling the skin of a vegetable, through the conversations of the taxi passengers! Also, I remember finding it scary how the ending theme was so upbeat despite the terrifying truths being gradually revealed. Even though it's such a cute and good song......

Now you can binge-watch all 13 episodes, and I want you to watch it as a set with the movie that depicts what happens after the ending! I can hardly believe it was 5 years ago, and it's a great work that I can still say is an interesting anime even now.
