This time! A famous work that has been adapted into a live-action drama and a radio drama in Japan in the past! Since it's being adapted into an anime, it's getting quite a bit of attention! What kind of work is it, you ask......

Maybe some people already know the work called Shabake. Shabake was originally a fantasy period novel that became a big hit around 2000, and it's quite famous, to the point that Rumiko Takahashi-Sensei and others have drawn short manga stories for it! It was also adapted into a live-action drama around 2007, so this Shabake is known even outside of anime lovers!

Actually, this isn't the first anime adaptation; it was animated once in 2021 to commemorate its 20th anniversary! Even though yōkai appear, the mystery element is quite strong and it's very compelling, which is the secret to its popularity! It's a story of two races—unique humans and yōkai who interact in a fun and comical way—that makes you want to see the next episode! The setting isn't modern times but the Edo period, and that difference adds an essence to the fun!
