Hello everyone~! This is Saori from Otaku Republic!

This time! We’ve received exciting news about the sequel to that anime~! I personally thought it might become a movie, but it turns out Season 2 of the anime series is coming! I’m so happy!

【Medalist】 Anime Season 2 Confirmed! The Chubu Block Tournament Arc, Where Competitors Aim for the All-Japan Championships, Begins January 2026!

The goal is the World Championships! The Chubu Block Tournament Arc, where skaters compete for a spot, will air starting January 2026!

So! The latest news on Medalist Season 2 was suddenly revealed the other day! Medalist is a story about the growth of boys and girls—and their coaches—competing in the world of junior figure skating. The first season of the anime was a big hit!

Want a head start on Season 2? Begin reading from Volume 5 of the manga! Season 1 covered up to around the end of Volume 4, so for a recap, we recommend reading up to Volume 4!

In Season 1 of the anime, we saw how Inori-chan met her coach, Tsukasa-sensei, and the story progressed through their first and into the second year of training. As of now, 13 volumes of Medalist have been published, and you can really see how much care is taken to depict the performance scenes and the characters’ emotions and drama with great sensitivity. The performance scenes are truly a highlight of the anime—they move so fluidly and with such high quality, I felt the same tension and emotion as if I were watching a real performance......!

New characters and a new tournament appear! As the main characters improve their skills, so too do their rivals sharpen theirs! Who will earn a place in the All-Japan Championships!?

So yes, it's still a little while away, but now’s the perfect time to get ahead by reading the manga or reviewing Season 1—especially the performance scenes! There were quite a few rival skaters introduced in Season 1, so let’s get ready now so we can enjoy Season 2 smoothly when it airs! Be sure to revisit Medalist and get hyped for the January 2026 premiere!
