So many summer anime updates are being released! New series are starting in July, but we’re also getting part twos and second cours of ongoing shows! Among them...... there’s one we should definitely review before it continues—let’s go over that show together!

Here’s a quick recap of “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun)”—it’s a series that blends school mystery with a hint of horror! In Japan, there’s a common belief that schools have seven supernatural mysteries. At the school attended by the protagonist, Yashiro Nene, there are said to be seven such wonders...... One of them is the rumor of ‘Hanako-san,’ a girl who died in a bathroom and now haunts it. When Nene goes to the bathroom to confirm the rumor...... she meets the ghost of a boy who calls himself ‘Hanako-kun!’

That’s how Nene becomes friends with Hanako-kun. But according to him, some of the other spirits who make up the Seven Wonders have been ‘altered’ into dangerous entities by someone’s hand. The traitor is said to be hiding among the Seven Wonders who remain untouched...... and in Season 2 Part 2, it seems we’re finally getting closer to revealing who it is!

With all that in mind, be sure to revisit Season 2 Part 1, which aired in January 2025, before Part 2 kicks off in July~! The story has a slightly eerie tone, but its mysterious atmosphere and adorable character designs have made it hugely popular, even in Japan. The manga is nearing its finale and tying up many story threads......! With the anime’s first half being re-aired as a refresher, now’s the perfect time to dive back in and get ready for “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” Season 2 Part 2 in July!
