First off, SUPER COMIC CITY 32 will be held in Tokyo on May 3rd and 4th—just one week away! Pre-event reservations are currently open!

The defining features of COMIC CITY are its venues and frequency! Here’s a general comparison between COMIC CITY and Comiket!

Here’s a quick rundown of what makes the doujinshi event COMIC CITY unique!
・Held regularly at roughly set times of the year.
・Takes place not only in Tokyo but also in major cities across Japan.
・Almost all events are all-genre.
・Medium to large in size. Not as massive as Comiket due to its higher frequency.

Compared to Comiket, the world’s largest doujinshi event, the differences with COMIC CITY lie in its frequency and location! Since COMIC CITY is held throughout Japan, people living far from Tokyo can attend a local COMIC CITY without having to travel all the way to the capital. Each regional event has its own unique flavor, making it easier to discover a wide variety of works!

For example! Here are some of the unique features of COMIC CITY events held in different cities!

●SUPER COMIC CITY
Commonly known as “Supa Komi,” it’s the largest of all COMIC CITY events. It’s usually held in Tokyo, but in 2025, it will also take place in Osaka.
●COMIC CITY Osaka
Held twice a year at INTEX Osaka, typically in January and May. The January event features up to 10,000 booths, making it one of the largest COMIC CITY events.
●COMIC CITY Tokyo
Held about seven times a year at Tokyo Big Sight—in January, June, July, August, September, October, and December. Event size varies, and dates often coincide with public holidays in Japan.
●COMIC CITY Fukuoka
Held around December at Marine Messe Fukuoka. With around 2,000 booths, it's smaller than the Tokyo and Osaka events but remains one of the largest all-genre doujinshi fairs in Kyushu.
