These two are what you would call the original and its copy. Yamanbagiri Kunihiro exists because of the existence of the sword Yamanbagiri Chougi.

There are scenes where Chougi considers himself to be the masterpiece of the Yamanbagiri sword and calls Kunihiro, who existed in his place, a fake. Their relationship is a bit tense, but over time Kunihiro matures through training and becomes determined to fulfill his role for those who need him, even if he is a 'fake.' This growth leaves Chougi somewhat bewildered. This complex relationship was prominently featured in the movie, making this pairing quite popular...... or rather, a unique bond just for these two!

These two make a great team! Rather than just senior and junior, they’re truly partners. They respect and trust each other, fighting together with a wonderful synergy!

These two didn’t immediately get along; they were both once owned by Hijikata Toshizou, a member of the Shinsengumi. Sharing the same former master, they both deeply respect Hijikata’s way of life and personality, which strengthens their bond.
