Hello everyone~! This title is pretty unique and impressive, isn't it? I'm Saori from Otaku Republic. It's getting animated, huh? That's exciting!
boss/question
By the way, Saori, do you know about the heliocentric and geocentric theories?
saori/closeeye
I know! Well...... sort of! It's about whether the Earth is revolving or if the world (the universe) is revolving during celestial cycles, right?
boss/question
That's pretty much it. So, which one is considered correct?
saori/closeeye
It's the heliocentric theory, right! It's not the universe that's revolving, but the Earth!
boss/smile
Exactly. Though recent studies suggest that the geocentric theory might also hold some truth...... as general knowledge today, the heliocentric theory is considered correct.

In the world of 'Orb: On the Movements of the Earth,' both the heliocentric and geocentric theories were topics of discussion. However, during that era, the geocentric theory was deemed correct, and the heliocentric theory was considered so unfamiliar that it was heretical.
boss
In 15th-century Europe, where the geocentric theory was widely supported, those who held heretical views were reported and burned at the stake. Yet, amidst all this, there were some who had started 'realizing' that maybe the geocentric theory wasn't right, and that the heliocentric theory might be the truth.
saori/question
But those with heretical views would be burned at the stake if they were caught, right?
boss
Yes. But they were starting to believe that the heliocentric theory might be the real truth. 'Orb: On the Movements of the Earth' is a story about people who pursued the truth, rather than what was accepted as correct. As the times changed, more people got involved, and they eventually reached a conclusion. The original manga was completed in 2022 with 8 volumes, so I have a feeling the anime will beautifully adapt the final chapter of the manga!

Well, in actual history, it seems heretics weren't treated quite as harshly, but this anime offers a great opportunity to learn about both the heliocentric and geocentric theories. I personally highly recommend it! Be sure to check out 'Orb: On the Movements of the Earth' when it starts airing in October!
